I discovered this community and joined here, the same time as the launch of the OPEN BETA of the new Battle Royale from Ubisoft - Hyper Scape (or Hyperscape). This game had a lot of new features, though most of my friends argued that it looked like Apex Legends. However I was able to convince them with my gameplay, that its noway like Apex Legends. I just love Hyper Scape.
The main feature that made it stand out from outside the game world was, the empowerment of Twitch viewers. If a person playing the game is streaming it on Twitch, his/her viewers can affect the in-game environment, in real time, by voting through a Twitch Extension, to trigger some 'Game Events' ('Low gravity' event for example). This will affect the game environment and all players in that particular game session experience the shift simultaneously.
This would bring a lot of gamers into the streaming scene and also Twitch would've grown to a newer level along with the game and Ubisoft. BUT...
The extension that empowered viewers has failed to work on the very second day of the game launch. This enraged a lot of viewers and the streamers and made them dislike the game and Ubisoft. Maybe the problem was with Twitch Integration and Twitch might also have some blame on them. But this has affected only the game and the Studio that launched it, cause viewers and streamers went for other games to watch/stream respectively. Thus game fell from the top positions to the double digit ranks..
Share your thoughts on the game and the progress surrounding the game. Ubisoft has planned to release the full-version of the game to PC and consoles on the same day and also boast that they will have Cross-play from Day 1.
If you had watched the 'Ubisoft Forward' event that was held on 12 July, 2020 at 12 PM PT, you would know the problems they faced. I will be writing on that too, but hey, I LOVE UBISOFT forever, cause they gave Assassin's Creed (Brotherhood and Black Flag especially).
