Recently, Razer announced that Razer will be partnering with various peripheral manufacturers (For more info: https://press.razer.com/press-releases/razer-chroma-lighting-now-enabled-on-third-party-devices/ ). I am sure it is a good news for all gamers who love to customize their own setups using products from different brands based on their taste. However waiting for Razer to partner with many more other manufacturers takes time and gamers still lack of the option to create their own line ups. Anyone agree with me that Razer should make Razer Chroma API open source?
I agree because in my opinion if Razer make their Razer Chroma API open source:
Gamers/ Tech Enthusiast
1. Can customize their lighting and effect based on their creativity
2. Able to choose the peripherals they want and make their own lighting
3. More apps and programs related to Razer Chroma with various function can be found in the internet as more people are able to get their hands on playing with chroma and there will be a higher tendency that more people will be attracted to buy Razer products
Razer
1. Boost Razer Chroma popularity (make more people know about Razer, thus boost sales indirectly)
2. Can find the flaws of their RGB products and improve them to dominate the market (For eg: Why many people to choose to buy Razer keyboard, Why many people choose not to buy Razer headphones? and then take the strength of other manufacturer, improvise and dominate the market sales)
They added some more line up. I hope cooler master and logitech is included too! Keep it up! For more info: https://www2.razer.com/chroma-workshop/connected-devices?utm_source=community_all&utm_medium=community&utm_campaign=190109_CMG_WW-_-Razer-Chroma-Connected-Devices-_-BR

wish Gigabyte Aorus would get there act together. I've already emailed couple of times with response 'we are looking into this'
Most users above have already commented on the hardware aspect, given that Chroma Connect is open to all manufacturers. This covers the hardware aspect of what you're asking for.
What your post also suggests is the ability for gamers/developers to create their own software. There has been a Chroma SDK since day one; allowing any and all developers to control the lighting. In the early days of Chroma, I worked closely with Razer, along with some other community developers, to help improve the SDK and create the very first third-party integrations such as CS:GO, Minecraft, Visual Studio plugins, and the ever-popular Audio Visualizer etc...

Need Gigabyte Fusion.
I have all my Razer peripherals (Mamba, Huntsman, Nari, Headphone dock, Philips Hue) in sync through Synapse 3.0.
I then have all my case RGB (2080ti, Aorus z390 mobo, Aorus 32gb ddr4, Coolermaster CPU Fan, Coolermaster Case Fans x 6) in sync using Gigabyte Fusion 2.0.
so 2 different light systems, how nice for them all to sync the same using Synapse!
I’m putting in Corsair fans for a new build but I’m a Razer guy... I don’t care about the fans besides them having rgb coloring, will their ICUE hurt Synapse’s performance?

It IS open for them as well. We're happy for literally any manufacturer to join the Connect Devices program, but as mentioned above, we can only extend an invite (which we did)... but we can't force it upon them.
thats good as long as you invited them it will create progress

Razer should actually go open and support all brands that have rgb in it like the popular corsair and cooler master or even link the cooler master and corsair effects in synapse 3

Chroma Connect is opening the door for vendors to use the app, MSI, Thermaltake, Zotak, Asrock have all joined and there RGB controllable through Synapse, fingersX for Gigabyte!
Yeah! Btw is there any Logitech and Coolermaster forum? I plan to ask them to connect with Razer Chroma

I think it all depends on what brands want to be a part of the program. Some of the other hardware companies may not want to be a part of this just because of competition, but it would be nice if they did come in with it so some people wouldn't need to use a bunch of different software's just to control lighting.
I find it is good with Thermaltake case fans, but you can not use a wave effect under the quick effects options, and you can not control the fan speeds on Synapse so you still need thermaltake's software anyways 😜.
my case is the Thermaltake tg view 71, and i didn't go with there fans because i like corsair better and i don't mind if i have to control the fans from icue its a nice app, but integration would be a step forward for more sales for both companies (be nice if Corsair would see this)
Now with Asus aura its TRASH! They need to redesign it or partner with someone that can do better... like Razer lol
and i am aware of cooler masters new fans but i would have to replace 10 fans lol

That's basically the quick and dirty summary of the current state of things. We've made it completely free to implement (no royalty, no licensing fee, no payments what so ever) because it makes life easier for gamers, gives them a more streamlined/immersive experience, but it takes two to tango.
