from my post in @bungie support:

i own a razer blade 15 base model 2020 (i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz, GTX 1660 Ti, 16GB RAM) and i used a benq zowie xl2411p. with this setup it was possible to constantly play over 100 fps, which is fine.

so i bought a razer raptor 27 monitor (144hz) and added razer egpu (core x chroma) with a MSI RTX 3070 Gaming X Trio. the monitor is connected to the laptop on usb c I can't hardly get over 40 fps in any configuration by now (no matter which quality settings), destiny seems to recognize the rtx 3070 because the vram usage shows (depending on the settings) */8 gb.

Some settings:

in order for hdr to work, destiny is in fullscreen mode, tried it with gysnc and without, tried capping the frames at 143, tried to connect the monitor directly to the graphic card instead of usb c on the laptop, the screen with the monitor is the primary monitor. in the nividia settings i also tried to cap the fps, tried to enable triple buffering, the rtx 3070 is chosen as the open gl rendering gpu.

the best ive ever got, were ~70 fps (half of the monitors refresh rate), but i must admit it didnt feel very good.

i think i should get over 100 fps with this setup or am i wrong? maybe there is a solution i'm not seeing, mayber somebody could help? or some settings that are mandatory, so my system can handle it? i have only ~30 days left to complete the season pass :D

edit: with ideal settings from geforce experience ( 2560x1440, HDAO, Shadow Quality: High, Texture Anistropy: 16x, Quality: Highest, Wind Impulse: ON, Multi Frame Sampled Anti Aliasing: Off) peak 50 fps

=====================================

so i have issues to get to >100fps constantly and maybe the razer software settings could be used for optimization: i tried to control most of the settings with razer synapse but dont really know which are the "best" if you're running a system with an egpu. i'd prefer to get more power from the egpu, so the laptop can "chill" (can be very loud on gaming settings) and would it possibly be better for the laptop to work in creator modus because the egpu can do de math?

i must point out that other games can be run easily (with few optimization) with high quality and >100fps

thanks 4 the clarification regarding gsync and vsync. so i disabled vsync ingame and in the nvidia settings i activated monitor technology to g-sync compatible and deactived vsync. monitor tells me gsync is acitve.

the battery boost in nvidia settings and in microsoft settings are disabled.

but no change in the fps :/

Thanks for letting me know. Were you able to test another game? Allow me to submit a case to our Support Team. Please send me the following:

a. Screenshot of System Information (Hit Windows+R to open the Run box. Type “msinfo32” into the “Open” field, and then hit Enter.)
b. Screenshot of Windows version (Hit Windows + R. Open the Run box with then type winver)
c. Screenshot of Synapse version (Click the gear/cog icon at the top right. For Synapse 3.0, click “About”).
d. Synapse 3.0 logs.
e. A video showing the issue.

Save the compressed files via Google Drive or any online drive account, then paste the link in your PM. Let's continue from there.

No sweat. Keep the G-Sync turned on as it helps your display from tearing during games. You can leave the V-Sync as it only needs when your in-game FPS is higher than your monitor's refresh rate which is normally at 60Hz. I advise using the NVIDIA graphics configuration over the in-game V-sync menu option. Also, please check this article too.

windows is up to date,“High-performance NVIDIA processor” as the Preferred Graphics Processor also selected and is up to date.

thanks for the suggestion with the integrated
Intel Graphics driver (updated by now) & Intel® UHD Graphics installed.

i currently display 3 fps counter: from steam, destiny and from the monitor. the Rraptor counter shows double the fps from the other two (up to ~eighty), i really dont know which i can trust.

vram @ 3315/8043

i tried different set ups with gsync because it works so good in other games and the raptor supports it. which are the optimal settings? or should i try destiny without any sync? in the nvidia settings(razer raptor adaptive sync is on, in nvidia settings: Monitor Technology gsync compatible and ingame vsync 😲ff, the gsync indicator is visible )
