CMOS Battery Charging Issue - Razer Blade Stealth 2019 Advanced

Hi,

My laptop's CMOS battery is acting up – not charging properly. It goes through a boot loop 4-5 times before finally starting. I've tried switching the battery twice now, using ML1220 (the same type that came with the laptop). Weird thing is, the new batteries work fine on the first day, but the next day, they're totally dead.

Just to let you know, I've already updated all firmware to the latest versions, but the issue persists.

Do I keep throwing in new batteries until something sticks, or is there a better fix for this?

Thanks,

@ONYXBondiBluehead122 Solved it by just buying a better quality cmos battery :) Third time’s a charm!

Oh, that's great to know :D Do you remember what the manufacturer and battery name was??

Panasonic, can’t find my receipt but i’m 99% sure.

Okay, thanks!! Honestly kinda annoying that such a simple issue is riddling so many devices.

I have the exact same problem with Razer Blad 2019 Advanced AND 2018 Advanced. Replacing CMOS in the latter solved the issue, but I’m still stuggling with the 2019 one. I heard that enabling USB Charge Option in BIOS can help

Hi @Selfsson,

Have you already tried updating the BIOS of your laptop? If not yet,  you can follow the steps here. Should the problem persists, PM me the serial number so I can verify its model and kickstart a support ticket for a possible repair request. Thank you!
