Hey all, just wanting to confirm that there’s been zero updates to Synapse beta since 10/6 or if my client is just messed up? I do the update check every day but it never seems to be updated.

I haven't seen any updates either. Both the beta and normal release are subpar. Normal release does get more frequent updates. Hopefully they are addressing the community issues and or recommendations.

Thanks, figured that was the case. Kind of disappointing since there are so many issues with this version as it stands.

What kind of issues? I don’t see any?

Well, for one it constantly loops into asking me to log in with my Razer account, and does it 3-4 times before eventually letting me sign in. The lighting on my Deathstalker Pro V2 has not ever worked since installing the new beta, it either sits as rainbow colors, or as it is currently, zero lighting at all, despite the fact that I have Starlight selected in Synapse. That’s just for starters.

Make sure the normal Synapse installation isn’t running, I had the same issue until I told the normal one to discontinue. The Chromas were going to war.

All those listed here:

Although it is entirely unclear what has and hasn’t been fixed in the past year. But that is another story...

Can you elaborate on what you mean by this? It automatically uninstalled Synapse3 when I installed the beta version, so I do not have the old one running in tandem.

In my instance, for whatever reason, the beta only uninstalled Synapse 3 for me, not the Chroma half of the release, so the two versions (release vs beta) both booted at start up and caused the keyboard to stay with whatever the beta was set to, with release’s lighting occasionally flickering through

How would I know if that’s the case?

Task manager is pretty vigilant about reporting instances of programs running. If it uninstalled synapse, I’m sure it’s something else, but if some component of synapse is left behind, that’d be the place to look for it

After you enter your credentials, I’ve found that CLICKING the login button, works 90% of the time. Hitting enter works 15% of the time...

I’ve never seen a beta programme with such lack of information or engagement from the developers. But then, I’ve never been on a Razer beta before.

Yep. This has to be the lamest, laziest “beta” I have ever been part of. There is absolutely nothing to test!

Userlevel 1

Poorly implemented beta program.

From your last beta version up to today, SignalRGB has made more progress than your entire Synapse Beta program.

I have received just in 2 weeks of being a SignalRGB subscriber, more than 25 updates already and they keep adding and fixing stuff.

Razer, you are about the laziest software developer possible.  HIRE more people and work on Synapse 4 already!!!.

Userlevel 1

Oh BTW.  I’ve joined the program because I’ve purchased their greatest and latest Huntsman V3 Pro and guess what, I have NOTHING to test, since my keyboard is not supported.

It is not a joke.  Their beta program should be supporting their latest hardware, not the oldest.  Razer development team works backwards.

Sadly, SignalRGB is another app which wants to harvest your data. All I want is to set static individual per key colours, which change for different applications, without needing an Internet connection or online account.

Userlevel 1

Yes SignalRGB wont’ help you with that, you cannot set individual colors, it works through a board and every device connected to it.

What do you mean by harvest data?.  They require the login to sync the FX.  I haven’t seen any weird connections.

Userlevel 4

IMO there should be no mandatory requirement to create a user account and connect to remote servers in order to change the colour of my locally attached keyboard/mouse. Partly for privacy concerns and partly for sustainability.

Userlevel 1

Yes I know.  But considering that they are giving you away “free software” I consider that as a fair deal.

I’ve been using SignalRGB for the past 3 years for free and paid the annual 3 weeks ago, because they were willing to help me and implemented support for my Huntsman V3 Pro in less than 2 hours.

They even teach me how to map every key in their internal template for the Huntsman V2 and I was able to add experimental support myself!

You hardly see that kind of interaction with any big corporate of today.  Razer behaves like a mammoth stuck in the past.

Besides, they have a Discord were most of the developers are always available to talk to you.

When I came here to ask why the Huntsman V3 Pro (their top product) is still not supported in the beta version.. they send me flying and closed my thread.

The way a company behaves with the costumer speak volumes about their intent.

I’m a happy subscriber, I have no problems in login in.  They gave me much more than Razer gave me.  In fact Razer charged me a fortunte for this keyboard and offered me a subpar software.
