BlackShark V2 Pro (2023) – THX 3.2.3.0 crackling, volume spikes and audio cut-outs with multiple audio sources

I’ve been having an issue with my BlackShark V2 Pro (2023) since a recent Synapse/THX update.

With THX enabled, if I play more than one audio source at once, for example YouTube + another video, or a game + YouTube, the first source can suddenly get extremely loud, crackle/pop, fluctuate in volume, or sometimes cut out completely.

Restarting Windows Audio temporarily fixes it:

Restart-Service Audiosrv -Force

but the issue eventually comes back.

I’ve already tried:

  • clean reinstall of Synapse 4
  • reinstalling the headset/THX components
  • disabling Exclusive Mode
  • setting Windows Communications to “Do nothing”
  • checking the known Realtek APO issue

I also ran Fix-RealtekAPO v1.1.0 and it reported no Realtek contamination, so that known fix doesn’t seem to apply to me.

My THX versions are:

  • THX Spatial Audio USB 1532-0555 – 3.2.3.0
  • THX V3 APO Presets – 3.2.18.0

The biggest clue is that if I uninstall THX Spatial Audio USB 1532-0555 and let Windows use the generic USB audio driver, the problem completely disappears. As soon as I reinstall Synapse 4 and THX 3.2.3.0 comes back, the issue eventually returns.

Has anyone else had this with the BlackShark V2 Pro (2023)? Is there a newer THX driver or a way to roll back to an older stable version without losing THX completely?
