Can I use an external 7.1 sound card with the Razer Tiamat 7.1 v2 headset?

I just recently purchased the Razer Tiamat 7.1 v2 headset. I have a cheap external USB 7.1 sound card (https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-7-1-USB-Sound-Card/dp/B002LM0U2S/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=7.1+sound+card&qid=1588101384&sr=8-4) I have been trying to get my headset to work with this card to no avail. Does the headset even work with external sound cards? I know the card works because it works with a regular 3.5mm set of apple headphones. If the headset doesnt work with external usb sound cards, what is the cheapest PCI sound card that works with the headset, as I only have one PCIe slot on my mobo. Thank you!
