[Help] Windows 10 Update Disabled my Razer Kraken 7.1 Surround Sound

Hey lads, First post but I need some help because Windows is annoying me (what's new?). Anywho, I recently did the September 10 Update for Windows 10 which bumps it up to the newest build. Along with resetting a bunch of crap as if it was a clean install of W10, I've also run into an issue with my Razer Kraken 7.1 V2. Prior to the update I've had no issues with the headset. Audio is clean, vibrant and all-round a good value headset. After the W10 update, just tonight I've discovered that W10 fails to recognize my headset as a 7.1. When looking in the headset properties there is no 7.1 Surround Sound option available; and the Dolby option that was once there is also vacant. In short, Windows is treating the headset as a regular headset. Trying to calibrate the headset through Synapse proves no results. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the headset in Device Manager, reinstalled Synapse, all with no results and so far I'm at a loss of how to get Windows to recognize the headset as a 7.1. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, The recent Windows 10 update KB4515384 caused a lot of audio issues for many people. Microsoft already acknowledged that this update causes audio issues for some users and also mentioned that they will reverse the changes in the next cumulative update at the end of this month. You might want to wait for this update first before doing other things. You can find more info by googling: KB4515384 audio issues. I hope this helps.

Hi, I'm suffering exactly the same issue. Synapse is not recognizing any running app (youtube, games, spotify, etc). I was looking for a solution and now I'm glad it's Microsoft's problem. Thanks for the info Dotchli!

Just wondering are you guys using USB3.0 port or2.0 post to connect the Razer Kraken? Recently I bought the Razer Kraken kitty edition and connect to USB 2.0. It often disconnects or not recognize the device. Would that be the issue that the device required at least USB 3.0
