How to reduce headphone volume on PC? | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

I have been facing a persistent issue with my headphones, which are excessively loud even at 1 percent volume and cause my ears to ring. To address this issue, I have been using a program called Equalizer APO, which allows me to lower the headphone sound on my PC.

However, despite my efforts, Equalizer APO always lowers my microphone sound, making it too quiet for people to hear. As I plan to start streaming, this is a major concern as it forces me to choose between preserving my hearing and having a functioning mic.

Ideally, I am looking for a USB to USB device that can be placed between my headphones and computer to turn down the sound without compromising the quality of my 7.1 surround sound. I am seeking a device similar to a sound board or audio box, but so far, the ones I have come across do not offer USB to USB functionality.

My primary goal is to lower the volume of my headphones without affecting my microphone sound.
