dailyMindaroONYX063and it's here! a dream come true! i was debating whether to purchase the Hammerhead BT again (my previous pair broke just before 2 years) or the Jaybird Vista... but now we have True Wireless <3 But I can't find any enough information or reviews yet. Questions:

- Is the case capable of wireless charging?
- Does the logo glow green like they did with the Hammerhead BT version?

Pale_NagaYou can check for the specs here, I am just waiting for it to release in my country to get my hands on. The latency lag reduction and bluetooth with the black color/green logo is radical. https://www.razer.com/gaming-audio/razer-hammerhead-true-wireless-earbuds
It's support codecs (aptx)?

JR0ninAbout codecs there is no information. If they don't have aptx, then I do not see the point in them for myself. And 3 hours for gaming it's not enough I think.

Pale_NagaYeah i dont see the aptx part, but you can get in touch with one of the Razer support team members to clear that query out. Right now i use Bose soundsport free wireless which gives like Battery life: 4-5 hours per full charge and again it depends on our usage. So in that way, 3 hours is average and can go more depending on our usage. So its not a big deal to be frank. :smile_:

Pale_NagaHey, also you can keep on these guys at https://www.soundguys.com/razer-hammerhead-bt-review-12314/ , they have pretty good technical aspect reviews about audio peripherals. The above link is audio review/tech spec sheet for the Razer hammerhead bt and it has the APTX CODEC support, so looks like the new Hammerhead true wireless should have it as well. But i could wrong as well. Like mentioned in the previous reply, you can always touch base with one of the Razer customer care members at https://support.razer.com/gaming-headsets-and-audio Cheers!

based on the support page, no APTX.. only SBC and AAC. looking for reviews on the wireless model, but the BT model had such excellent sound quality until mine broke.

Took delivery of these today. Night and day difference in sound quality and performance when gaming using the new Hammerheads compared to the previous version BT Hammerhead on RP2 .
Gamed for about an hour over playing Doom via stream, using these and the Junglecat controller on my RP2.
No audio lag and worked error free with the controller.
For me the only weak point out of the box is the quality of the charging pod. It's feels thin and cheap compared to other charging pods, JLABS for instance.
AAC codec is controlled thru the BT setting. There's also an app for these.
Here's a good discussion regarding AAC vs. aptX.

MrRaptor63well wait. the hammerhead might support aac/aptx. But your rp2 clearly does not. The "hd audio: aac option" always shows up for my sony BT speakers (i have 3 different versions) - but when you check in developer options you will see the RP2 still only uses SBC. This "issue" has been known and hated for a long time now. Or is there any magical stuff happening when installing the dedicated for these? Could you check/verify in you developer settings pls? :D

parac1oXXYes its the same, no change. I tested a variety of different ways today capturing BT logs to see if it ever changed during various settings and content playback. Log shows AAC support for MPEG-2 & 4; maybe Apple support?

First time for me seeing the AAC switchable in BT settings. With other BT headphones it was either not switchable or omitted for non support.
For me the codec issue was purely driven by latency during gaming and video playback. I think my previous Hammerhead BT set had somewhere around 130-200ms latency with SBC and not having aptx available impacted that, you could really see the audio/video out of sync at times especially in games like COD mobile multi-player . With these advertising ~60ms latency in gaming mode the codec choice is less of an issue for me.RAZER Blade 14 2017 Intel Core i7 7700HQ | 16GB 2400MHz DDR4 | GTX1060 6GB | 512GB m.2 PCI-e | Win10 x64 |

MrRaptor63Right, tbh I was already thinking about getting them. So far I dont have any kind of "true wirelss" earpieces and I am still a little sceptical/unsure about how firmly they hold in the ear. The BT codec story is still really annoying me, since I can definitely hear the audio quality difference between SBC and LDAC on my Sony devices. ATM using any kind of BT equiment with my RP2 just permanently reminds me of the quality I am not having/lacking when compared to my Sony Xperia before. And it makes me go mad everytime I think about it. Just because this would be a rather "easy" feature to implement on their side. And it just does not make any sense at all, that it is missing in the first place...:mad_:

xARACHN1DAye, when I first read the title of this thread, I thought it was from after the release. Then I scrolled back up and checked the date. WOW. gz. I am not even sure if they should'nt be paying this guy because of copyright naming stuff? xD Or is it all scripted? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye_:
He guessed it right down to the name. good job.
