Kraken TE 7.1 no sound

Hi, I just bought Kraken TE and went through the set up. The only way I get sound is if my default device is set to Speakers - Game as per the attached. After downloading 7.1 Software and changing the default playback device to 7.1 surround sound as recommended I lose sound. I can see the volume bar moving up and down if I play anything, however there is no sound. the volume is turned up and as soon as I switch back to Speakers - Game the sound is fine. Can anyone give me advise on what can be wrong please? Can I still get the full benefit from Speakers Game default device or is that not 7.1?

    I can maybe suggest an alternative. THX spacial audio is better than 7.1 surround audio, you want to try that? New Kraken TE comes with USB Audio Controller which should deliver the THX spacial audio driver. As per attached go to Synapse 3.0 and enable THX spacial audio Next on your Windows control panel go to Sound menu and set THX Spatial - Synapse by default I have noticed on your Pic 2.png, you have not set the 7.1 surround sound audio to default. Try that if that works.

    thank you for your reply. It seems that thx spatial is working as I have enabled it and can tell the difference when I turn it off. 7.1 is disabled on my settings due to the fact that once enabled and made default sound disappears completely
