Nari Ultimate mic

Just got a new Razer Nari Ultimate to go with a new gaming laptop and I have to say I am beyond disappointed with the quality of the mic. Friends are begging me to go back to my £50 KLIM (which I will do as soon as I reunited with it) as the sound is so distorted and awful. Anyone else having trouble with the mic? I expected a hell of a lot better for almost £200. Feeling seriously let down, which is a shame as the keyboard and mouse I have from Razer are top notch. The sound and the haptics are fine, but it is next to useless if those on my team can barely work out what I am saying - robot, dalek and tin-can are the descriptions so far. How is it that one of the biggest names in gaming can charge so much for something so apparently sub-standard? Any advice appreciated - that doesn't involve third party software.
