Razer Barracuda X microphone not working

Hi. My microphone is no longer functioning properly.  It seems to be always on mute although if you press the button ALMOST all the way down without actually clicking it, it will detect some input.  I have NOT damaged the headphones in anyway so this is quite disappointing.  I hardly ever use this unit and when I did this is what happened.  Someone else has reported the same issue as I am having but has not been resolved (after 2 years).  This has made me lose confidence in this brand.
