Razer Blackshark V2 X , 7.1 sorround sounds not working properly

I recently purchased a Razer Blackshark V2 X and when 7.1 surround sound is enabled I noticed that when playing valorant the audio I recieve from behind is cut off and the audio is audible only for a very small range. For example , the footsteps that I hear from the front and sides can be heard from a much larger distance whilst the footsteps originating from behind me is muffled and can be heard from a very short range only. This makes it very hard to play the game with ease. Is this  a intended functionality of the headset or is there something wrong with it? Someone please advise on this.


PS: I should also mention that while certain sounds are enhanced some sounds are completely muffled when originated from behind.
