RAZER KRAKEN ESSENTIAL - 7.1 sound | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
I have bought RAZER KRAKEN ESSENTIAL headphones a long time ago. After purchasing them, I installed free virtual sound software 7.1 "RazerSurrond v2..0.29.2", which served me very well until the last system update. After updating the system, the application does not work properly, the sound is distorted. Is there a newer version of this software somewhere? Has it been abandoned? Is the only 7.1 virtual sound software now only added to new headphones?

it happen to me recently, what i did to solve this problem was exit the app, and re open. this should do the trick
That was the first thing I did, unfortunately it didn't work. Reinstalling drivers and software didn't help either. I constantly hear crackling noises when playing sounds when i using this Razer app 😢

If you install bluestacks and run it it will fix the problem but then you have to use bluestacks all the time.

the sound without the app is good, but not the same as the 7.1 sound with app 😞

Could you please write something more? Anything else I need to do besides installation? I ask, because I really don't understand, how can installing an emulator alone help here?
It is a stupid fix, but essentially, back in October of 2020 windows update, people got the same issue as you. If you go to your Razer Synapse, and turn off Surround sound, the crackling goes away, but you lose the surround sound. This happened to me when I updated a few days ago with the march update, now what I found out, is that for SOME reason, when you have bluestacks running in the background (just lunch the app, and minimize it) the issue is "fixed". Neither Razer, nor Microsoft have addressed this issue, or are trying to fix it. Despite the lies Razer tells you, from their forums from months ago, their "developers are working on the issue", but no updates since from them, and no updates to the Razer Synapse App. Microsoft also steadily becoming worse has also not answered.

Regarding the fix, I have no freakin clue, but the only other fix for people has been to revert back the windows edition to before the windows update, and that supposedly fixes it.

For reference, my system is this:

Ryzen 5 3500

ASRock b450m/ac

2x8Gb teamforce 3000mhz ram

PNY 2070 super (blower)

Windows 10 home edition

bunch of SSDs for boot drive and extra storage.

people with other systems had the same issue:

good luck getting your money's worth out of Razer though, There goes my 100 dollars down the drain (and yes, MONTHS without a proper fix where I have to install intrusive BlueStacks, or disable a MAIN feature I paid for is value completely lost).
Thank you very much for all your help:D BlueStacks really helped:D
