Hi everyone,
I'm experiencing a very frustrating issue with my Razer Kraken V4 Pro and Razer Synapse 4, and I'm hoping someone from Razer or the community can help identify the cause.
The problem:
Every time I start Windows, my Kraken V4 Pro fails to automatically switch audio profiles when launching a game, despite all games being correctly linked in Synapse 4.
For example, Battlefield 6 should activate my THX Spatial Audio profile, while Call of Duty should activate my dedicated stereo profile. Instead, the headset remains on the Default Desktop profile.
Here's the strange part:
Simply opening Synapse 4 → Linked Games and immediately closing it fixes everything!
I don't need to select a game, change any settings, or re-link anything. After opening that menu once, automatic profile switching works perfectly until the next Windows startup.
Troubleshooting I've already performed:
-
Completely clean installation of Synapse 4.
-
Synapse 4 Repair.
-
Restarting Synapse and checking its background processes.
-
Removing and re-linking game profiles.
-
Testing different USB ports and USB cables, including the original Razer cable.
-
Disabling Bluetooth and using only the 2.4 GHz connection.
-
Confirming that the headset and OLED Control Hub are correctly recognized by Synapse.
Unfortunately, none of these steps permanently resolves the issue.
Additional observations:
My Razer mouse and keyboard switches profiles correctly, so Synapse clearly detects when a game launches.
Someone in the Razer Discord suggested that Synapse might not be connecting or synchronizing correctly with Razer's cloud servers during startup. This is an interesting possibility, although I haven't confirmed whether the issue is related to cloud synchronization or local profile initialization.
My concern:
The Kraken V4 Pro costs approximately €450. At this price point, I expect automatic game profile switching to work reliably without having to manually open a specific Synapse menu every time I start my computer.
The headset itself sounds fantastic, especially with THX Spatial Audio, but this software issue is seriously affecting the experience.
Has anyone experienced this exact behavior? Is there a known fix, or can someone from Razer investigate and escalate this to the Synapse development team?
I'd really appreciate any help or information about a possible permanent solution.
Thanks in advance!
