THX Spatial Audio starts multiple times on Windows startup! | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

I’m using a Razer Barracuda X (2022) headset and paid for THX Spatial Audio, but the program starts multiple times on Windows startup and is getting really annoying !!!

Auto-Launch is disabled in both checkboxes and it STILL starts on top of everything else multiple times!

Tried reinstalling the program but doesn’t help at all.

Please tell me how to fix this!

I’m using a  Windows 11 Pro
Version    23H2
Installed on    ‎5.‎10.‎2022 ‎г.
OS build    22631.3085
Experience    Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22684.1000.0

THX Spatial Audio version is 1.0.257

Same here. Have to close several instances after every start. Very annoying!

Day 74 and still waiting for Razer to come up with some kind of a solution for this, maybe a small UPDATE of the software would be nice!!!???

Anyways, this was totally my final Razer product that I ever bought. So much time wasted, absolutely no help from support and no updates for 6 months already for a problem, that obviously not only I have.

Pathetic.

Also experiencing the same issue with THX Spatial Audio at Windows Boot Time

OS: Windows 11 (latest)

Issue: Multiple Instances of THX Spatial Audio launch at Windows boot (2 or 3)

You have to close 1 or 2 instances to get to the last instance which you can then setup to work.

What should happen?

One instance of THX Spatial Audio should launch only.

Uninstalling and Re-installing THX Spatial Audio doesn’t fix the issue.

I’m having the same issue with windows 11.

I could have found a solution. I put the THX Spatial Audio in the: C:\Users\….\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

and i didn’t do nothing in windows settings or the automatic start of the app

if you need help here is my discord:

7 months on and the problem is still here and getting even worse. I can’t believe that such a giant as Razer could neglect such problem and doesn’t even try to fix it. Those headphones are by far my last Razer purchase, trust me.

This is my PC after every single startup.

I also still have the problem with the self-shutting off headphones 20 secs after any sound is played on them.

Total fail.

Hey everyone, I was also experiencing this issue and I think I might’ve found a solution for it. I upgraded from the 7.1 surround app, to the THX Spatial audio, but if you head over to your task manager, you’ll notice that both helper apps are still enabled to run at startup:

I went ahead and disabled both of them, and instead I enabled the “rzappengine”.  I’ve rebooted a few times now, and so far I it opens only once, like it should.  🙂 Hope this helps!!

UPDATE: I still had the program launch a couple of times after making this change, but it certainly reduces de amount of windows it opens at the same time. I tried disabling all 3 of the programs from the Task Manager, and that seemed to limit the software to 1 window per start up. Hope this helps!

Razer please release an update that corrects this automatically 🙏🏻

I got this issue when I enabled a specific sign in option. Disabling this option also prevented Spatial instances from popping up. In Windows 11, go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options. I hope this helps anyone with the same issue.

vhayste - thanks for posting this!

I can confirm I had the same issue in Windows 10, turning the equivalent setting off in Windows has resolved the issue for me as well. The THX Spatial Audio app no longer opens on my screen and I do not end up with further instances opening if I reboot my system.

That fixed my problem so hard, the app doesn’t even want to auto start on Windows startup anymore lol

Thank you !!!
