Which headset can replace the Razer Tiamat V2 7.1?

Hello, everyone.

I've been a user of Razer headsets for years. My journey with headphones began wonderfully with the Asus ROG Strix 7.1, but I later decided to invest in the Razer Tiamat V2 7.1, which ended up becoming my all-time favorite headset. The sound quality is simply impeccable, and over the years, I've purchased three units of it. Unfortunately, one of them has completely worn out over time, and now I'm using the second one while keeping the last one in reserve.

Recently, the microphone on my current Tiamat started having issues, which has made me concerned, as I'll soon have to rely on my final unit. I've stayed away from the headset market for many years precisely because I had a "stock" of the best model I've ever used. However, as I look at what's currently available, I'm finding it extremely difficult to find anything that compares to the Tiamat V2 7.1.

My impression is that both Razer and other brands seem to be focusing on producing headsets with simulated surround sound, prioritizing connectivity and reducing production costs. However, I feel that sound quality and material durability have been pushed to the back burner. Many of the more recent models strike me as fragile, with materials that don't appear built to last.

That's why I've decided to reach out for help here on the forum: does anyone know of a headset with sound quality comparable to the Tiamat V2 7.1? Or is there any chance that Razer or another brand might release a premium line of headsets focused on audio quality and durability? I'm willing to invest whatever is necessary in a headset that meets these criteria.

Thanks in advance for your help!

i got my tiamat v2 awhile back.. it was refurbished and hardly cost me all that much.. i do agree that headsets now days dont focus on what i want.. however i find the bass on the tiamat v2 really flat.. sound quality is not that great.. but maybe its because its a refurbished unit.. however i prefer it to the common headset out there.. where i can hear things coming from wherever it is coming from compared to the digital 3D audio we get from other headsets.. im looking for something just like the tiamat v2 but i want better sound quality as well..

and i cant find any..

edit..

how does your headset sound..? is the bass really flat..?

I have been babying my two pairs, as my search for a pair equal or better has been unfruitful. I have been searching for years. I had an old pair of Zalmen’s that were much better sound, even if only 5.1, but the wires were too thin and would always fail. Those are no longer made either.

Hopefully, someone will update this thread with some one day. I will try and remember, if i ever find any, to update.

The search continues..🤣

The one extra thing i really love about the tiamat is there is a passthrough connected to a modified logitech z906 with a z625.. making switching between gamemode on or off super easy..

I use the logitech G933 for certian movies and skullcandy crusher evo for music and console gaming..

I would like just one headset for all.. but the world says no again..

I use my Tiamat 7.1 v2 for gaming, with an external Mic, the pass through hooked up the my old as dirt, but modified Logitech X-530 PC speakers, for watching videos or whatnot on my desktop. My second pair is connected to my laptop via a USB External 7.1 channel audio adaptor by VANTEC. My laptop is connected to my Samsung 65” curved TV at the foot of my bed for when my health won't allow me to do much or I'm feeling lazy. Lol.

Hey! Just another fellow Razer user here! I have the Razer Blackshark V2 Hyperspeed and it sounds amazing! You should definitely try it out! The bass is not flat at all!

I appreciate your insight and thank you for sharing, but they use virtual surround sounds. It's like comparing a tricycle to a star ship.  Please, don't think i am saying that they aren't good, for type of headphones that they are.  They just  aren't on the same continent as the playing field, meaning they just are a different thing altogether.
