What Monitor Are You Playing On?

Hey Insiders,

Whether we’re rocking a setup ready to launch a rocket or a humble rig, we all have something in common—we need a screen to play on. With new features like the mesmerizing HDR or blazing fast refresh rate popping up every month, choosing the perfect monitor can be tough. There are now more types of panels than games available, and with the arrival of 4K and Ultra-Wide gaming, resolution is also an important factor.

So, what kind of monitor are you guys playing on? A classic 1080p 60Hz monitor? A lightning-fast 144Hz screen? Maybe a brand new 4K monitor to savor every tiny in-game detail? Or perhaps…you play on a TV. You savage.

Tell us now and let’s discuss monitors!

I bought the absolute cheapest 1440P monitor I could find: the Lenovo L24Q. 1440P 60Hz, 24in. Bought it on sale for $150 from BestBuy. I love the slim bezels and brushed aluminum. IMO, 1440P is the sweet spot for gaming, which is why I'm glad the Raptor is 1440P. Maybe someday...

LG 32GK850G gsync enabled, 1440p @ 165hz . Love.
Alienware aw2518h gsync at 240hz and 1ms response time and 1080x1920 resolution. have three of them, one for gaming, one for discord, and one for twitch. i got into this monitor because im a team liquid fan and that is one of there sponsors
LG 34UC79G ultrawide monitor, 144hz, a little curved for me ( but it says its a curved monitor 😛 )
After using my ASUS PB278Q for 5 years, decided it's time to get a new monitor and a new graphic card to replace my old GTX780Ti. Changed to Acer ED32QUR as it better fit my requirements and budget, and it served me well so far. 31.5" 144hz WQHD VA panel with RTX2060.

a realy old 1280x1400 dell monitor and its plasic shell is starting to crack
sonofpsyops
really old dell monitor you have any suggestion for one under $100

Under $100 is a pretty severe limitation, you might want to go used at that point. However, if you are looking for a new monitor, this page might help: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/monitor/#r=192001080&sort=price&page=1&D=60000,240000

ASUS ROG Swift PG278QR 27” Gaming Monitor 1440p 1ms 165Hz
Got a Iiyama E2481HS, my first 24" screen, a 1920x1080 60Hz but it works well
Iiyama B2483HSU + AOC Agon AG241QX
LG 29WK600-W 29" UW-UXGA 75Hz HDMI DP FreeSync HDR LED Monitor

It has honestly been pretty great for me so far. Now just hoping more games support the wider aspect ratio during loading and in menu.
Samsung 32" 1080p 60hz TV that I use as a monitor.

Works totally fine for me.

I wanna get a HDMI adapter for my Razer Stealth 13" 2019. what would any recommendations? Thank you.

And awesome setup man, I want to have something like that one day!

Sincerely,
Xander
Currently I use the Acer Predator X34, 3440x1440 100Hz G-Sync. There are alot of newer and presumably better models now. But, I find the 3440x1440 to be a good sweet spot of pixel density and usability for everyday tasks. Ultrawide is really a game changer for me when it comes to gaming and is very immersive. Only recently have I been interested in upgrading as these BFD models are slowly coming out. Mostly because I've been interested in a "Gaming TV" recently. So once one that seems reasonable is released I might get one.

I recently made the jump to UHD too - I don't regret a thing. Games are so sharp in 4K, it's just glorious. I love going around Toussaint in The Witcher 3 and discovering new details in paintings or mural art.

Yeah, high refresh rate definitely makes sense for FPS and MOBA. I've tried it a few times on Overwatch, but quickly got motion sick - couldn't handle the frames! :D

What about your screen size? I personally enjoy playing on a TV because the ratio size/price is great compared to monitors.
I'm using two monitors. The primary one is an Acer KG271. It's a 1080p 144Hz monitor that's pretty bog standard when it comes to special tricks. It's works more than well enough for gaming. And trust me guys, that faster refresh makes a huge difference. And I don't just mean in games. It makes browsing the freaking web look much smoother.

That said, it's got a fake "brushed aluminum" finish that the more I look at... It just doesn't match my rigs otherwise-Razer aesthetic. So, I'm planning on replacing both with Razer Raptors sometime between the product dropping and next years tax season. I figure that on top of the higher resolution, better contrast, better color recreation and HDR, the Raptor will just be a prettier monitor to look at.

I just haven't figured out if I want one or two the Raptors. Duel monitors are nice when you need them. I'm finding myself not needing them so much anymore.

21.5 inch of 60 FPS + 1920*1080 is good enough for me on CS:GO and Starcraft

Dell S2716DG
Acer 17 inch.
Yup. Running my back up till I get a new one. Main monitor died.
And it sucks.
