Razer Wolverine V2 and V2 Chroma Deadzone Issue | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
So there is an INSANE issue for these controllers that can be considered a design flaw. There is something known as "intrinsic deadzone" on these controllers is about 15%-20% from what I have seen online. It doesn't matter whether or not it is adjusted in-game, the firmware takes over and makes the deadzone 15%-20% or higher depending on the game deadzone settings. An example of this would be if you set the deadzone to 5%, it would be overridden by the firmware and sets it to 15%-20%. If you set it to 25%, it would be 25%. The easiest solution for this would be to allow a software deadzone control. Another one could be a firmware update. Here are some videos/forums filled with people having this issue. CHECK EDIT 2!

This is honestly a shame because other than that, this controller is definitely the best on the market right now if this wasn't an issue. I will be sticking to my Wolverine Ultimate for now until this gets fixed.
Edit: There is another more detailed video on this issue. It is in Japanese but he has a more advanced testing methodology.
Edit 2: as of 12/3/2021 THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN FIXED! ALL U NEED TO DO IS GO TO THE RAZER APP AND CONFIGURE THE DEADZONE OPTION AND UPDATE YOUR CONTROLLER TO THE LATEST FIRMWARE!

I am having problems.with razer wolverine  chroma v2 i have the cord plugged in to the controller and the controller shuts off it does it about 4 to 5 times when i am in a game why does it do that the cord does not pop out and it shuts off i wish the cord was built in the controller because i never had a problem with razer wolverine v2 and the cord built in side

for anyone playing apex through steam, I found that setting the anti dead zone to 0.25 does the trick.

On all 4 of my Wolverine V2 Chroma, the first thing I do is go into the app and COMPLETELY remove deadzones for both sticks. This makes them the most smooth and enduring sticks on the market, imo.

Now if they’d only fix the plastic bracket flaw that breaks some back buttons after a while….

After updating Razer Controller Setup For Xbox to version 1.7.84.0, the dead zone on the Wolverine V2 Chroma controller does not change. Slider at 1, the dead zone on the controller is 15-20%. Before the update, there was no dead zone and it could be adjusted. Tell me where to download the old version of Razer Controller Setup? Or how can this be fixed? Now it is like a brick in shooters is impossible. On another PC the same thing, reinstalled Windows, changed USB ports, . . Or is this a plan for Razer to sell the Wolverine V3.

@SmashedPumpkinplane163  did you find the fix? It's crazy that they keep telling us it's a hardware issue but the new update brought the deadzone back. Its been months now.

Unfortunately, I bought this controller a month ago. I really regret it, because I didn't know about this problem with dead zone. The software and controller are updated (1.7.84.0 / 1.2.0.0) and even with the dead zone at 1 in the app (and with the lowest possible in the games) it's still horrible! I have the elite 1/2 and the wolverine v1 and the difference is absurd. If anyone knows of a solution, please tell me. BR Tullio
