I know people will respond to this by saying “It’s almost 5 years old.” Or “get a new laptop”, but I am confident it’s not just that. I’ve had my laptop for almost 4 years now. Not even a year into having it, It would get incredibly hot in winter. the only thing added to it was 2tb of internal storage and that barely helped it keep going. Even when I had it early on, it was barely able to run Minecraft with full graphics. I have numerous games that I want to play on it, but can’t. I’m surprised it’s even running the sims. It cannot run The Forest, Fortnite, Phasmophobia or really any other game on medium graphics. I have to do a ton of optimization to run Minecraft on 60fps, and it can barely run a Roblox game on medium graphics. I cannot afford to get another laptop and I just had to spend 300$ getting new fans and battery for it. I have a cooling pad, multiple fans going in my room and I don’t know what to do anymore. Can anyone help me and is this a universal problem?

Have you checked the Razer’s performance tab on your laptop?
+1You have cooling pad, but did you’ve checked the temperatures during gaming?
If they’re high, CPU / GPU will throttle, making performance go down. If you’ve never cleaned your laptop (and never changed thermal paste) - it’s a good time to do it.
