Just to keep a long story short I had a very good discount at that time and it was the latest model then. Flash forward 6 years, and two keys have snapped off and a number key doesn’t work right. I’m using a Bluetooth keyboard for now.

Is it worth taking the time to try to fix? I think I found the keyboard in white but it seems like an awful lot of work, and money if it doesn’t work out but still cheaper than a new laptop

It might be worth replacing the keyboard if the laptop is still performing well and meets your needs after six years of use. Since you're already using an external keyboard, you could continue with that if the repair looks too complicated or expensive. Before ordering parts, I'd check a teardown guide or repair video for your exact model to see how difficult the replacement actually is. If the cost stays reasonable, repairing it could definitely be cheaper than buying a whole new laptop.
