I miss the old days when batteries were external and plugged into chassis without needing mini screwdriver or T5 Torx screwdriver. So then if expands it won’t bend anything as battery bottom forms part of chassis. Also easier to spot bloating when it sits externally too.
Could then keep a 2nd battery charged for quick swap mid journey.
Just like mobile phones - All moved away from this for majority of laptops :(
Razer and most gaming laptops brand now try to catch users need and trends which is thin light portability, detachable or slots hardware might add some weight. So most manufacturers abandoned this, I think from manufacture and production cost it’s also better for cost down, there’re some that still use it though like some gigabyte and clevo gaming laptops.
