Feedback on Tartarus V2 Pro

I’ve had the Tartarus V2 Pro for a few days now. I bought it thinking it might be the answer to some of the issues I’ve had using a mouse and keyboard for space flight games, and on the whole, it actually is. But there are a couple of issues that kind of ruin what could otherwise be an amazing product.

The biggest issue for me is the direction of the thumbstick. It doesn’t seem to be configurable.

For me, “up” should be pushing the thumbstick forwards, towards the back of the Tartarus. Instead, you have it set so that “up” is towards the top/keys of the Tartarus. I can see the logic behind that, but it feels completely unnatural to me when using it for flight controls.

I’m sure different people will prefer different orientations, so rather than changing the default, please just give us the option to configure the direction ourselves.

The second issue is the analogue keys. Using the keys as a mappable joystick is incredible functionality and exactly what I was looking for. Great work here.

But we really need a deadzone setting. At the moment, even lightly resting my finger on a key can trigger movement. For flight controls that makes it very difficult to use properly. A simple deadzone slider for each analogue key would pretty much solve the problem.

The last issue is more of a basic bug. Mapping Hypershift to a key seems to make that key act like the space bar instead. I’m guessing this is a known issue and something that will be fixed.

Other than those things, I think the Tartarus V2 Pro has huge potential. It’s frustrating because it’s so close to being exactly what I wanted. Fix the thumbstick orientation, give us analogue deadzone controls, and sort the Hypershift bug and this would be an absolutely brilliant controller for space flight games.
