Also, is there any workaround to hide that split line in the material in this case where I'm using the inside of a tube? Why do some of my renders come out grainy like this one while inside touch designer the image quality looks much better?

To address the issue of a split line in a material when using the inside of a tube, you'll need to check and adjust the UV mapping and material properties. A split line can occur when the UV mapping is not seamless, causing the texture to appear discontinuous. Here are some steps you can take to potentially fix this:

  1. UV Mapping: Ensure that the UV mapping on the inside of the tube is correctly set up. You might need to unwrap the UVs to make sure they are continuous and not split. Some 3D modeling software allows for automatic or manual UV unwrapping.

  2. Material Settings: Adjust the material properties, specifically the texture mapping settings. Check the tiling and offset values to make sure the texture is applied consistently across the inside surface of the tube.

  3. Texture: Ensure that the texture itself is seamless, meaning that it does not have any visible seams or lines when wrapped around a 3D object.

Regarding the issue of grainy renders, this can be caused by several factors:

  1. Render Settings: The quality of the render can be affected by the render settings in your 3D software. Ensure that you're using appropriate anti-aliasing settings and a sufficient number of samples for ray tracing or global illumination, depending on your rendering method.

  2. Resolution: The resolution of your render can impact the final quality. Make sure you're rendering at a high enough resolution to maintain detail and reduce graininess.

  3. Lighting: The lighting setup in your 3D scene can also affect the quality of the render. Ensure that your lighting is set up correctly to reduce noise and graininess.

  4. Materials and Shaders: Make sure your materials and shaders are configured properly. Incorrect settings can lead to artifacts in the render.

  5. Rendering Engine: Different rendering engines have their own settings and parameters that can impact image quality. Make sure you are familiar with the settings of the rendering engine you are using.

  6. Post-processing: You can use post-processing tools to enhance the quality of your render. Software like Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom can help reduce noise and enhance overall image quality.
