Mouse/ BIOS
Hi all.
I'm currently in contact with Razer Tech Support on a different issue, but, want to ask something else unrelated to what I already submitted to Tech Support. Besides, I know the current COVID-19 has affected response times. So maybe I'll receive a quicker response here...... :smile_:
I have a couple of Razer products: The Ornata Chroma Keyboard, and the Mamba Elite Mouse. My question is regarding the mouse.....
I have an Aorus (Gigabyte) Gaming 8 Motherboard. I remember back in the "old days" (for me, around the mid-nineties), that when you entered your computer's motherboard/ BIOS, you had to navigate around the BIOS with your keyboard's Directional Arrow Keys; the mouse was not able to be used while in the BIOS. That, of course, changed in due time.
I've had this Aorus motherboard since 2017, and yes, of course, I've been able to use a mouse to navigate its BIOS over the past three years. But, now I have a problem........
With my current Mamba Elite Mouse, after I had entered my BIOS during system boot, my mouse.......was unresponsive. Yes, I was able to navigate the BIOS the "old fashioned way" :wink_:, with the keyboard's Directional Arrow Keys, but no response from the mouse.
And in case you were going to ask, yes, I have the Razer Synapse-3 (Razer Central, version 7.3.23.124) installed on my system, which of course works on both my keyboard and mouse. But as you also probably already know, this software program does not come into play while you are in the BIOS, but only after you get to your desktop.
And I've noticed this: When booting my system, the keyboard will light up in that random pattern of going through the colors of the rainbow, but doesn't settle into the custom lighting scheme I have programmed until it reaches the desktop. But I've also noticed......the mouse doesn't light up at all during bootup; it does not light up until my computer reaches desktop.
So, bottom line: Is this "normal" for Razer mice? Not to respond until your computer gets to desktop? And by "respond", I don't just mean lighting up to a specific color scheme, I mean "respond" as in there being a response at all to movement, especially when you're in the BIOS.
Or, have I perhaps not configured something correctly? Is there some setting that I missed which would allow mouse response/ movement when in the BIOS?
Thanks for any help & information;
Pez
