Question about razer advanced RMA option

I selected the advanced RMA option and am waiting to receive my new keyboard. The initial email states that I have 17 days to return the original equipment. I checked the tracking and the replacement keyboard is still in asia specifically japan. Am I expected to send my device out even if I haven't received my replacement keyboard? kinda defeats the purpose of the advanced RMA option that I paid $140 for
