7.1 sound not working on win 11 on my RAZER BARRACUDA X headphones. The application installed correctly, I registered the device as required, entered the activation code as required. Then the app told me to change something in the settings. I watched a few tutorials on yt on how to do it and where. It turns out that I don't have such an option at all (that is, Speakers (7.1 Surround sound)) that needs to be set in the sound settings.

    i have that option but when selecting it all sound cuts out from the headphones and any other devices lol! Just cannot get the 7.1 to work either following razers instructions or just fiddling myself... only way headset works is if i choose it the sound options and then the 7.1 software brings up an orange triangle error. Even then the mic just won't work at all and volume bar on both headset and mic doesn't work. Mic broken entirely. A bit of a joke really.

    there is very few gaming headsets which is half decent ( exception Beyer Mmx 300), and Razer hardware usually are not long lasting and overpriced for their quality. If you absolutely need wireless it may be ok, apart from that I see no reason to get that for gaming. If you don't need BT and really need to save the money, there are other better options than the Barracuda X.

    It was either go wireless or risk breaking my laptop by forgetting i'm wired to it after a long session. Almost yanked it clean off the desk far too many times. Luckily headset was really cheap and probably better without the 7.1 surround anyway, although it would be nice to be able to find out. Just seems crazy that the 7.1 software completely borks the headset when it's used as a selling point. If i'd paid even as much as 1/3 of the RRP of these headphones then i'd be well mad. As it is just slightly disappointed i didn't get as good a bargain as i initially thought. :frown_:
