Razer blade 15 2022 i9 3080ti | Razer Insider

I have some questions regarding the performance of this laptop.

I currently have the newest Razer 15 with the i9 3080Ti variant, I have seen that the razer blade 17 received a GPU wattage update via the BIOS.

I was wondering if there any plans similarly for the 2022 razer blade 15 models.

Although the performance is great, it’s a bit daunting that for 300 dollars more in estimation, I can get 20-30% performance boost and larger screen variant. It under performs in that segment.

This isn’t by any means a negative concept, just from a logical user perspective, it’s illogical the strong differences between the 2 in terms of performance.

Are there any plans for such an upgrade? , even 10-15 watts additional can make it reach a moderate level in a smaller chassis.

The blade 17 pro comes with 280watt AC adapter to support that higher tgp meanwhile 15 is only 230 watt, other than that I’m not sure if 15 cassis and vrm can handle more wattage. When i tried blade pro 17 3070130 watt vbios on blade 14 100 Watt vbios it was only also detecting up to at max 115, mostly under 110 watt, 10 watt extra performance to me on real world usage isn’t so important considering that cross bios flashing had also a risk. Btw anything more than 130 watt for example vbios from other OEM brought either graphic artificial or crash. So maybe on this form factor 100ish watt is the sweet spot.

I would like to say that I agree with you, for the small form factor for one on the razer blade 15 is just amazing what it could accomplish, but I have seen some results where the razer blade 17 just completely demolish the 15 in terms of performance. Some games like rd2 for example on 4k ultra on the blade 15 ran at 42 ish frames PS. Where as the 17 ran at 52-55ish per second. I know it’s penny pinching, but it’s fairly noticeable on a 4k screen.

Either way, the razer blade 15 is amazing, it’s small and powerful, for the right person it’s a powerhouse. Maybe I am better suited for the 17 model. Coughing up the extra 200 bucks for the wider perks might be more ideal. In my thought process earlier, with a slight wattage boost, it might inch over the 60fps range that most games on console try to achieve.
