Razer naga pro Model RZ01-0342 side panel buttons not working

Hi so I've had this mouse for about a year or so. First my 2 button didn't work. my friend told me to try updating the firmware, which i did, and then it fixed it. Awesome
Then about an hour later, my 1 button is now no longer working. I tried testing it outside of games and double checked my bindings in synapse, and I can't find a reason it would not work. I took the side panel off and it doesnt look dirty, so I'm not sure if I should try cleaning it?
I'm not sure what else I can try.
