razor x core and acer nitro 5 issues

I’ve installed the driver from nvidia on both gpu. Laptop and egpu. I installed synapse and can control my rgb. Computer switches back and forth from internal display to egpu connected monitor and occasionally it will stick on the egpu monitor. But my performance is actually worse on my gtx 1080 in the razor egpu  ftw which shouldn’t be the case. I have a fresh out of box thunderbolt 4 cable and updated drivers on my thunderbolt port. Any thoughts??
