Should I buy the Razer Blackwidow V4? | Razer Insider

I've had the Razer Ornata Chroma for years now and it's served me well but very worn out and some keys starting to double click. I was looking to stick with Razer keyboards and liked the look of the Blackwidow v4 but have seen when they first came out people were having a lot of issues with it, like double clicking after a couple weeks.

£170 is a little pricey but if it end up lasting me as long as my current one, I'm happy to pay that price. Is it worth buying or are the faults to common for this keyboard? If so what alternative can you recommend?

Yes, the new batch is fixed - the problem was on Razer Orange switches (probably too much lubed) causing double-typing.

If you're concerned about reliability, it's worth checking recent reviews since the issues with the Blackwidow V4 seem to have been a launch-specific problem. If you're willing to pay the £170 for longevity, it could still be a solid choice if the early issues were addressed. That said, if you want peace of mind, the Razer Huntsman V2 is another great option—it's highly praised for its durability and has more stable switches.

bought the bw v4 last year in may , can say its good until you get double typing and ctrl key not registering properly  ( had green switches ) , problem first occured in october/november , it surely is frustrating , im currently rma-ing it hoping i get the money back and getting the huntsman v3 because optical switches do better than mechanical  durability wise ( didn’t know this when i bought the v4 :P )
