Tartarus Pro keymap switch delay with Synapse 4, any fix?

Hi all,

I'm facing an annoying delay when I press a button on my Tartarus Pro to temporary switch to another keymap. I use the thumb button but it happens with any button I set.

I didn't have this issue before. This thing make the switching function useless because I need to wait to press a button from the keymap 2.

I think it could be the last update of Synapse 4 that introduced this problem.

Am I the only one?

Thank you.

You are not the only one. It is terrible that a Dpad button press is delayed when switching temporarily to another keymap and switching back to last used keymap. Plugging into the usb on your actual Motherboard helps, but there should be be no delay EVER in an electronic device when gaming….this is not addressed with any Tartarus models but they constantly focus on their other devices for fixes. Synapse 3 never had a delay. This makes online gaming much worse, and when you press a button that has not yet registered because the keymap hasn’t changed back, you can be dead.
I have switched to trying keypads/devices from Azeron. Expensive and takes time to get used to, but software is great and pressing a button is instant.
I have owned Tartarus type devices since the Belkin N52TE, and the switch to Synapse 4 has been an embarrassment and depressing, basically forcing me to find alternatives in gaming.

I’ve had this problem for several months now. I’ve tried countless troubleshooting proceedures after getting a new Pro since my old v2 was out of warranty. When I contacted support they had me waste my time sending in my device which I’d had less than a week, spend 2 weeks waiting for a new one, and… surprise surprise, same issue, but somehow the Pro is even worse, because sometimes not only will it lag, but it will sometimes somehow completely delete my current keymap

I’m done. It just has to work like it used to, but that’s too hard I guess. I’m going to see if I can’t just get a refund and get the azeron Cyborg 2 like I had thought about getting initially. I would have done so if I wasn’t dissuaded by the sheer cost and unfamiliarity of it.

Ah, and just so we’re clear on troubleshooting I have attempted (in rough order)
-Bought a new device
-Different usb ports.
-Deleting profiles and creating new profiles.
-Disabling its recognition as a 360 controller so steam no longer recognizes it as such (with a computer restart after disabling it)
-Disabling various parts and combinations of its drivers and restarting the computer after EVERY attempt.
-Tried completely uninstalling all of its drivers, with a computer restart.
-Uninstalling and reinstalling synapse twice with computer restarts after each. (at different times during my personal troubleshooting)
-Contacting customer support, sending my brand new, less than a week old pro in, waiting almost 2 weeks for a replacement - exact same issue with replacement
