THX Spatial Audio

As I’m understanding, through all the changes & updates, THX Spatial Audio is entirely integrated through the new laptops and Synapse 4 now, right? I’m having a hard time comprehending how my sound settings in control panel shows “stereo” for the playback configuration, while all the features are controlled by Windows are set to Realtek(R) instead of “THX Spatial Audio” showing a “7.1 Surround Sound” playback configuration. Does this automatically configure the laptop to use all 6 speakers? Because I noticed a sound difference when changing the profile on the sound settings with the THX Spatial Audio option in sound settings after configuration of Windows to THX Spatial Audio as well. When the software isn’t installed, I don’t see any other settings to config audio to something other than “Stereo.”
