This week I'll change it up. I'll host a pseudo AMA here on Insider. I say pseudo because it will take place throughout the week. There will be a few rules in place and it will be controlled, because I'd rather not get yelled at because I went off the rails and I like my job!

A few things:

  • I am not a qualified spokesperson for Razer (Yes, that's a thing), so I can't give any insight nor speak in an official capacity regarding any Razer related product releases. So please don't ask me about anything new that may or may not be coming out.
  • As to not give PR (Public Relations) a headache, I will not speak negatively about our products, nor will I accept any negative communications. So questions like, "Why does XXX suck?" will not be commented on.
  • I'll give my opinions on the questions asked. I will try to answer as many as I can, when I can. So please do not expect an immediate answer. And I will do my best to make this as interesting as possible.
  • Keep your questions short and concise. Wall of text entries will be deleted.
  • No customer support related questions. Please post in the Support Forum.

Alright, let's gooooo!

Hi, I'm Dekades, Community Cowboy on Razer Insider, an actual employee of Razer. Ask me [almost] anything!

I have a suggestion, RAZER should start making watercooling products.
What kind of parent you would be ?
The kind of parent who would let his child play games even tho he has homework to do ... just because you share the same passion for gaming?
Or the kind that will be strick about how much time your child should spend on pc... given your work is somewhat pc industry and gaming related?

*I hope it's not too personal ^^
What kind of degree do you have that managed to land you this amazing job?
Will razer release flat styled replaceable keycaps just like the ones on the Razer Ornata. Ive never seen a mechanical keyboard with those
Razer should partner up with EK and make water cooling products or team up with Lian Li again And make an AIO with them, This is just a suggestion.

Could it be that "take the place of Min-Liang Tan" is your most insolent and repressed desire ?

PS : @Min-Liang Tan : this is purely a joke don't take his words for real. 😈

If you are given an Opportunity to decide and design on the next Razer product release, what will you choose that product to be ? :smile_:

Ooh, that's tough. I'd love to release something so different and out there. I wouldn't know where to categorize it. Very similar to how Razer has those experimental projects.

Homework should always be first! After that they can play all they want - or at least until bed time. I'm not the strict parent type.

Bachelor of Arts in Communications. It's pretty versatile. I think people tend to focus on the brand more than the actual position. I think if you focus on the brand too much you limit yourself, but by focusing on the job position, you'll find that a lot of brands, no matter the industry, have plenty of openings.

Not even in the slightest. We like Min as our CEO.

Very! But I think I have to be very clear, the brand is great, but what makes the whole experience even better are the people who work here. Many of them are passionate gamers and this is the core of our brand identity. For Gamers. By Gamers. We're still a business that needs to be run. Work still needs to get done and teams have to collaborate with people who specialize in their field, whether it be finance, human resources and marketing. With that said, yeah, it's pretty freakin' cool to work here. Lunch break and/or late night multiplayer sessions are some of my favorite things we do here.
