I’m very interested in the repair result in Germany because I live in Hamburg and it seems like I also have the trackpad issue...

Mine has been with Ingram Germany since Thursday of last week, still no updates, still nothing other than generic thank you for your patience updates from razer support emails. It's pretty bad. If it comes back damaged and still not working I will demand a new unit. I'm past my return window with very uk.

Unfortunately Razer has by far the worst customer support but build the nicest laptops...

I will provide feedback once I test it, it’s still stuck with Fedex WIESBADEN DE for 6 days, since it arrived there. It was supposed to be delivered back - today before 18h.

I mean Razer support is nice, they are trying and escalate and follow up, but let see if the Ingram Germany is capable.

Germany Fedex - tough life.

So mine is apparently already on its way back to me, I wasn't notified by email but found this by digging through the online RMA portal. I don't see any notes as to what had been done. Can I ask how you saw what was done to the machine?

have you all ordered directly from Razer? I’m curios how they handle RMA if you bought it like me from a reseller

I ordered from a reseller

I bought it in April from razer.com (local shops did not have it available), it was shipped from China.

Trip report?

They told me about motherboard issue two days ago and I emailed them for an update today and got,
“Thanks for checking in! We're actively monitoring the status of your laptop with the repair center. As soon as they provide us with an update, we'll reach out to you right away. We appreciate your patience with us.”

They will have had my laptop longer that I had it. That is BS. I bought direct.

Ok Fedex moved, I should get it tomorrow. What do you guys think, “will it blend?” :-X

Well I finally heard back from support :

After our repair team performed the diagnostic. They have confirmed that the trackpad is intermittently working. In order for the issue to be fixed our repair team replaced the conductive tape.

Lol

It just came, no transport damage, it had additional packaging, installing OS now and I will need to test it, so let’s see next few hours, but conclusively we will see after 48-72hours, unless it starts doing it again earlier.

Great so no scratches or dents or things like that?

I used the repaired Blade (Germany Ingram - ”replaced conductive tape”) today for 3-4 hours, installing OS, apps, gaming, plugged in, on battery, so far it did not happen again, but let see after the weekend I really hope it will stay this way and I am not here tomorrow nuclear ranting. Before the repair sometimes it took 5-6 hours for the issue to start.

When I originally got the laptop the trackpad seemed almost too hard to press to click, now it is normal, perhaps they assembled it correctly when they replaced the “conductive tape”.

Just to confirm, it’s normal that upper cca 2.5cm of the trackpad is not press clicking right (touch click works ok)?

I also installed the firmware from June 5 and it really fixed the Win key which stopped working after screen lock.

It came nice and clean as it was before.

Thanks for sharing it sounds positive. Mine comes Monday with the new tape so I'll be able to post my experience also. I'll be opening up the machine as well to put my ssds back in.

Day 2, also no issues, if nothing happens tomorrow then on Monday we can close the case :o

Well if its as simple as tape someone really messed up in the factory and wasted all our time.

The issue did not occur anymore after 3 days (after RMA). So I hope your will work too.

Would be good to understand what the have done with the tape. Maybe this is somethin you could do on your own. Do you have some pictures what has been changed?

I have just removed the buttom panel and the battery. Under the trackpad is a wide ribbon cable which I guess might be the problem. So if electricity of your finger is on the touchpad this might interfer with the below ribbon cable in some circumstanced. I added capton tape between ribbon cable and trackpad. I will keep in eye on it, if this is the fix.

This is of course just a theory at the moment.
