Yeah man in Arizona they replace hardware - mb/trackpad. In Germany they replaced some conductive tape.

I did not bother to dig into the laptop internals, so unfortunately I cannot contribute regarding what changed exactly. But 4 days in row no issue, so I hope it will last. It’s savage device when it works xd

Anyone else got it repaired from Germany Ingram and all good?

I can just say that at least for today my issue are completly gone, after I added the tape under the ribbon cable. I really think this is the fix. Of course this needs to be tested futhermore.

Besides that the tracking seems to be very precise and accurate. Feels like a very premium touchpad now :)

So mine is apparently already on its way back to me, I wasn't notified by email but found this by digging through the online RMA portal. I don't see any notes as to what had been done. Can I ask how you saw what was done to the machine?

so?

The issue with the mousepad has been driving me mad and from reading this thread and reddit, and a bit of basic electronics knowledge i have, it sounds like a hardware issue whereby a ribbon cable is causing interference with the underside of the mousepad. The fix by razer sounds like they additionally insulate it in electrical tape to prevent this interference which I note one user has had success in doing themselves on this thread. Other workarounds which have a noticeable improvement include reducing the sensitivity of the touchpad in settings, and turning off multifinger gestures. This all makes sense in reducing the sensitivity and therefore the likelihood of the ribbon cable interference being detected by the mousepad.  I am not brave enough to dissasemble the laptop myself and risk voiding any warranty, but hopefully this information helps some people.

Just RMA quick man, if you do some hacks, you may void warranty and later on, reselling the device may be issue as well. No self-fixes on 1 month old Blade!

To be fair I had the issue once more but that seemed to be an overall other porblem with the performance of the system (it was like “frozen”). Have not noticed any issues anymore.

Yes please do not touch the system when your are familiar with dissassembly, even when this one is a “not brainer” :)

Thanks Razer Support, still works fine. I am happy with the device now!!!

I cannot pin down the issue. Sometimes it is completly gone and from case to case it re-appears. I think the “tape fix” did not really solved the overall issue.

Man im experiencing this issue on my Blade 18.. The biggest frustration i have is just the total waste of time dealing with RMA and the device down time you will have. I feel like its necessary for them to do a recall looking at how wide spread this is.

Do you own the new Razer Blade 18 2025 ?

I have also been experiencing intermittent touchpad issues on my new Blade 16 (2025). I haven’t reached out to Razer customer service yet, but I may if it persists.

If anyone has had luck finding a solution, I’d love to hear it. I’ve tried reinstalling the drivers to no avail.

I had all of the same issues reported in this thread with my R16 2025. BIOS and firmware updates did nothing. However, I installed Windows cumulative update KB5063060 and the issue was fully resolved.

some folks were saying that reducing trackpad sensitivity and disabling multi finger gestures in settings helps a bit (for issue to occur less often); also observation was shared that often top right corner of trackpad works, while rest of trackpad is having tantrums

How is it going? Have you noticed the problem yet?

Did not really help. It was solved for a few days and then it came back as before. This ist just insane… RMA a laptop because Trackpad is not working… this should not happen on a device in this price category

RMA fast, don’t do home made stuff, voiding warranty etc.

Already sold the device. Does the issue occur on all Razer Blade 16 or is it only a special batch?

Not all, not possible to quantify, but we see much less reports now than back during release, so probably they corrected it. There were reports it also affected some 18”.

How many of us with intermittent working issues ? Has anybody resolved this or already received a replacement which doesn’t have this problem ? Thank you

Bought my Razer Blade 16 in mid May 2025 and didn’t notice the issue until the last couple weeks as I was mainly using it with a mouse before… Along with Windows Hello not working and the camera light turning on when clicking the quick settings… very disappointed with it. Honestly love how powerful and cool the laptop looks but the constant issues are ruining it all.
Very frustrating after spending 5.5k.
Currently emailing back and forth Razer Support.

So, just wanted to keep you all updated but the RMA process has been nothing short of hell.

  1. first moan is that razer support are PAINFUL to deal with. You only get 1 reply every 24hours and even then they rarely answer your question, it feels like you’re talking to ai.
  2. I get that Razer want to try save everyones time by attempting some first-line troubleshooting, getting you to reinstall drivers etc, but combined with their 24hour replies, this ended up taking a week to even get an RMA approved.
  3. It wouldnt let me generate the shipping label on the support portal, i kept getting an error and this wasted another week of my life living with a faulty laptop and the stress of communicating with razer.
  4. Razer then manually sent me a shipping label but the post office refused to take it on 2 occasions where it clearly hadnt been raised correctly.
  5. Did i mention that razer support are painfully slow to deal with?
  6. eventually after another week of trying, razer arranged a collection.
  7. Considering razer quote a 3-day turnaround for their in-warranty repairs, mine took almost 2 weeks. It is now ready to collect from FEDEX today. Im dreading the issue not having been fixed or the laptop being damaged, but i will update you all this afternoon. Im presuming the paperwork will be in the box as to the repair work carried out.

if there are any issues i’l be getting a full refund under the consumer rights act. I also paid through Paypal credit so doubly covered seeing as Razer try hide behind their strict ‘14 day return policy’ despite UK legislation overruling this.

In Germany Ingram they know how to fix it. No issues after the repair for weeks.
