2016 Razer Blade Stealth (i7-6500U) wont detect a 34" 3440x1440 monitor

Hey, I've been trying to use my new Kogan 34" 3440x1440p monitor as an external display through HDMI from my 2016 Razer Blade Stealth. I've tried updating the Intel HD Graphics drivers but it still wouldn't detect the 2nd display. It'd be great if someone could give me a better insight of why this issue occurs. Can the 2016 Razer Blade Stealth simply not output to an ultra-wide monitor or is it the monitor's requirements that create this problem.

Did you try also other hdmi cable? Or maybe check display property once plugged, scroll down advanced properties -> display adapter properties -> for resolution and refresh rate, if you find it try lowering that if it works it means it can handle only that value. It’s quite weird though since late 2016 can handle 4K 60Hz with its hdmi, maybe because newer cpu (7500U)?

I've already tried another hdmi cable and even tried adjust the laptops and the monitor's refresh rate to be the same. In the advanced display settings, its only giving me 3 options on the scroll down menu for the laptops refresh rate i.e. 60,59 and 40 Hz while for the monitor it only gives me one option of 50 Hz. I've also installed the latest bios updates from the razer website and uninstalled and reinstalled the display drivers thinking it could be the old drivers that caused this problem but nothing's helped.
