$3200 laptop.......No mini Displayport out put???

So I have an entirely first world problem. I just received my Razer Blade Pro 2019 2080 earlier today, upgrading from a Blade 14 1060 with a core to dock to. I upgraded with the intent of having a more powerful pc to play VR which I have been really getting into as of late. The core with a 1070 seemed to be handling fine but I wanted to get ready for the Valve Index so I needed more horse power, plus i just wanted a portable desktop. I settled on the highest spec'ed laptop razer makes because I am a true believer in mobile, its just the way to go in my opinion. My set up at home is a dual monitor, primary 144hz 1440p g-snyc for gaming and a 4k vertical panel for youtube, chrome, etc. I was so exited to pack up my old set up and experience the finest gaming graphics with my new 2080. But....soon realized the core with the 1070 carried all three of my displayport connections, both monitors and oculus rift s. So iv'e concluded that I could run the 4k with HDMI no problem, however gaming monitor is a no go. I wrongfully assumed this had a mini displayort as the Blade 15 does. (my falt completely for over looking) Now i would like to solve this some how that does not require me to buy a 2080ti and through it in the core, though iv'e already considered this to be my last option. Unless razer would accept a swap for a 15 advance model. Now One does anyone know any good thunderbolt docks that could carry a displayport 1.4 signal and has around 6 usb 3 ports? Two is all this worthless because I am not sure if the thunderbolt port is even tied to the 2080 cards display outputs? Does anyone else have a Blade pro 2019 and have and extensive set-up? how did you manage?

If anyone with knowledge could help, would make my life much better.

I don’t have Blade Pro but I know its TB3 can output better bandwidth than DP and with usb c to DP cable you can run g sync as well. With Blade Pro 2080mq 100 watt tdp I don’t see the need of TB3 egpu for now due its bandwidth limitation, your 2080maxq will performs better.
Yes agreed on the last part 100%, however do you know if the TB3 port is outuputed from the 2080 or the Intel intergraded?

It’s from 2080mq unlike previous Blade Pro. Make sense imo since it replaced DP for running g sync (confirmed by pc mag and users).
Wait so gsync is not supported over TB3?

Doch, it’s supported now on Blade Pro this year, your model. It depends on Thunderbolt configuration how it connects directly to cpu or gpu.
I have a Blade Pro and running 35" 1440p 120hz G-Sync monitor via DP from the TB3 port. I was not able to get it to work properly using more than a 6ft cable though (10' cable used, it said 120hz in properties, but moving windows around the screen was choppy)... so keep that in mind when buying the correct USB-C to DP cable. I just plugged in this one today (thanks Amazon for 1 day shipping) and so far so good...

FYI... It is showing in the Nvidia properties that G-Sync is running. Also... there is a new version of the Nvidia drivers to take care of some BSODs that people have been experiencing on 431.60. Here is a link to the thread...

BUT... I'm unable to achieve anything above 60hz on the HDMI output... any thoughts on that??? My second monitor is a 1440p 144hz. I've tried multiple cables... even one rated for 8K @ 60hz.

Some monitor hdmi only output 60Hz. I’ve also Predator xb1 1440p 144Hz, its hdmi is useless only output 60Hz even @1080p...not sure if i OC it, just came on my mind:smile_:, but mostly I use DP on that monitor for 144Hz, hdmi I use for running my old 4K monitor from Blade or PS4 Pro.

Did you ever get your Rift S working?

I just ordered a Razer Blade Pro 17 2019 2070 and betting on it working with a good TB3 > Displayport. Would be great if it works since my primary objective for this laptop is VR (CV1, Rift S, Cosmos)
Yes your going to need a thunderbolt to displayport adaptor. And run as is. The less devices plugged in the better. Mine keeps crashing when I have to many things plugged In. When I try to run though my thunderbolt dock with keyboard mouse speakers etc plugged in the USB controller fails and the rift s freazes.
Thank you for answering!

Sounds like I’ll be fine since I’m not planning to use many peripherals while using VR on the road and just bought an adapter with a single DisplayPort.

That’s a relief honestly since it’s not every day I spend so much money on a new machine.
