Blade 14 USB-C Ports not working with drives

I recently received the new Blade 14 system. Overall I like it a lot, but have been having a weird issue with external SSDs attached to the USB-C ports. When I first connect a drive it shows up for a couple seconds then disappears.

Monitor connected to a USB-C port works with out issue, so I don't think there is a problem with the port itself. The drives work fine on other computers, included an older Blade Stealth.

I have tried reinstalling the AMD chipset driver and that did not change anything. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Many USB-C drive bays have issues with laptops for whatever reason. What specific enclosure are you trying to use? I had two enclosures that didn't work properly with my Blade 14, but my latest one does.

I have a Samsung T5 1TB one and a ROG ARION enclosure with a 1TB Western Digital Black NVME drive in it. Both of them do the same thing and both of them work fine on other systems. It feels more like a driver issue then anything else, but I have tried reinstalling the drivers from AMD's site and that did not help and Razer does not have any of the drivers on the support page for the Blade 14 at this point.
Same problem for playing with vr headsets - which usb driver do i need exactly for blade 14 (2021) system. The homepage show zero drivers for the latest laptops.
Tried wiping the system to resolve the problem. Right after the Windows install external drivers were working fine, but I had not even manually installed synapse or and AMD related drivers, windows downloaded a bunch of drivers automatically. After rebooting from the windows update drivers, external drives stopped working again. Looks like its probably something in one of the AMD drivers but I have not figured out which one yet. Its extremely annoying.

I have also had issues with Windows rolling back the integrated GPU driver multiple times to one from March that isn't compatible with some games like Doom.

I really like the machines hardware but the driver issues are incredibly frustrating.
