Intel integrated GPU overriding scaling option on 2019 Blade 15 advanced

Hey,

I have a 2019 Blade 15 advanced. When running some games on the laptop monitor, running them on resolutions apart from the native one I get black bars on the edges of my screen. I went to the nvidia control panel to try and fix this issue but it appears it doesn't detect my laptops monitor. I then installed the intel graphics center application and changed the setting to stretched there. It worked in desktop but once I opened an application the black bars returned.

My thinking is that the desktop is operated by the intel gpu and applications by the nvidia gpu. Thus i can't change the settings of my laptops monitor as it is controlled by the intel gpu but when an application launches the nvidia gpu takes over.

Is there any way to either make the laptop monitor appear on my nvidia control panel OR force the laptop to only use the nvidia gpu. I've already tried going through BIOS and changing the gpu setting there but that wasn't available either.

Any help is appreciated!
