Issues with Razer Turret for Xbox One on PC

Hi,

I recently bought the Razer Turret for Xbox one to use with my PC. I am moving to a new place and no longer have space for a desktop gaming setup, so I concatenated my TV setup with my gaming setup. This keyboard / mouse setup seemed like the perfect solution for that.

The keyboard and mouse themselves are great. Build quality is excellent and I appreciated the packaging and inclusion of USB-C. The problem is the performance. The keyboard has a weird behavior where it alternated between working perfectly and any combination of the following behavior:

1.) Not registering keystrokes at all.
2.) Keystrokes repeating or getting "stuck".
3.) Delayed keystroke registration.
4.) RGB flickering.

Basically: the keyboard has random seizures during which it's basically unusable. It happens pretty frequently - I can't consistently get through more than 20 minutes of gameplay without experiencing it - and it is clearly an unacceptable behavior for a keyboard that costs EUR 300 to be displaying.

The problem is not with my computer - it's definitely either the keyboard or Razer Synapse. More specifically, I /think/ it has to do with the way Razer Synapse "recognizes" or "interfaces" with the keyboard when it is not attached to the computer with a wire. In the software, the keyboard drops in and out of the interface (i.e.: isn't recognized) when these problems occur.

Obviously I could just game on a wire, since the problem isn't present then - but it would be odd to need to, since the value proposition for this product is basically "play care free from your couch!".

Has anyone experienced this problem or found a solution to it? I'd like the RGB to work - maybe I can fix the problem by uninstalling Razer Synapse (come on Razer, please fix it - ridiculous) - I haven't tested it, but I can imagine this is the case - but is there another way to control the RGBs?

Not that I got any help from support but I >believe< I found the solution to this; just posting it here in case anyone is having a similar problem. From what I gather, this solution may also work for other Razer keyboards / mice experiencing intermittent disconnects or disruptions.

The problem has to do with Windows shutting down power to the USB ports your dongle or peripheral is using to interface with your computer.

To fix this, search and go to "Edit Power Plan" > Change Advanced Power Settings > USB Settings > USB Selective Suspend Setting > Change to Disabled > Hit Apply > Reboot. Your Razer peripheral should now no longer disconnect or drop out of Synapse 3 intermittently!

If you want to be safe, you can also go to Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus Controllers > right click on all USB ports > Properties > Power Management > make sure "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is unticked > Apply / ok.

Voila! Hope this helps anyone else having a similar issue! Synapse and your expensive keyboard are both fine - Windows is just getting in your way 🙂
are you still having issues with the turret? im in a similar situation and for me the turret was the best option, however not only does the keyboard just stop working randomly like you mentioned the mouse lags to the point of unusable. this is my second turret, my first i got a refund on for the same issues im having now in hopes that the one i received was faulty. im about to give up on this product.
Yup, I still have issues. Changing USB settings made it marginally better but it still spazzes out and becomes functionally unusable every once in a while. Really a shame! I'm almost certain it's a software issue, so if Razer could take a look that would be great...

I, too, am in a situation where the Turret is my only "lapboard" option (relatively compact, unobtrusive, doesn't require a couch, etc.)
do you have any other wireless peripherals that use a 2.4ghz dongle?
Yes. I have SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless headset. Interesting... I'll check whether this issue goes away when I unplug that peripheral altogether.
i use the razer nari headset, after moving the dongle for it my turret has been working perfectly fine
