Junglecat problem! Randomly missing inputs

I was really enjoying my controllers, up until I've noticed this issue after extended play that's become a total showstopper for me on my Note 9. It happens at home and during my commute. I figured I had gotten a defect, but after getting a replacement from Amazon, the same thing happens with that model. And I don't think it's my phone, as I've seen the exact same issue after pairing it to my Nvidia Shield.

What's happening is whichever half of the controller is communicating with the other that's paired to the phone will just miss inputs, seemingly at random. So, if I have my L controller paired up to my phone via bluetooth, the R controller will randomly hiccup, such as a face button thinking it's still pressed down after I've let go, or will just not receive an input when I press a button. Same issue occurs if I had the R controller paired to my phone; the left will act up in the same way. The half that is connected via bluetooth, however, doesn't have this problem. Controllers are charged, and LEDs don't change, solid green throughout. Controllers are on the latest firmware through the Gamepad app (v1.1.0.4).

So I'm missing jumps, button prompts and rolls that I'd otherwise have made, and it's come to really sour my experience. Not quite what I was expecting from a $100 controller.

I'm really thinking this has to be a firmware issue. This exact problem is happening on two different Junglecat pairs, on two different Android devices running different versions of the OS. Or I'm just unlucky.

I don't really have an accurate means to recreate the issue, I have to keep pressing buttons with a gamepad tester until it happens. But I've exhausted all my options, so I've turned to the support forum in hopes that I can find a solution. Otherwise, I'll just have to initiate a return. I really don't want to do that, any help would be appreciated!

I think this has something to do with the Bluetooth connectivity, but I have a few questions for you. 1. Do you get the same results on all games? 2. Are you using custom keymaps? 3. Do you see multiple Junglecat devices in the Bluetooth settings page when both controllers are paired to your Note 9?
