Kraken Pro V2 audio....

A few months ago my boyfriend and I both bought headsets to game with. He bought the Kraken 7.1 V2 and I got the Kraken Pro V2. His headphones work great!! My headphones DID work pretty well, the only complaint I got from other people was the echo was pretty bad, BUT recently I was having troubles with one of my games and decided to update my computer.. apparently I hadn't updated in a while because there were MANY updates. After the updates I wasn't getting any sound from my headset anymore and was very upset seeing as the first time we ever went to hook them up we had a hard time. After about an hour I finally got them to work!!!!! I was SO excited and all I had to do was update my drivers, that's what windows made me do. But once in game I was so angry again, the sound was terrible. It now sounds like someone is playing the sound through a speaker in front of their mic and I'm getting the crappy audio that it produces. Now even my other teammates say that my voice sounds horrible too..... I don't know what to do and I cant get a hold of support.
(Also I am new so if I did something wrong please let me know and I'll fix it <3)
