I decided to buy new headset after mic on my less then 2yo Kraken TE headset died(likely soldering on small control on cable work off) and decided to go for common Kraken V3, non X, non Pro, and after using if for 3 days i understood that sidetone was way too important feature of TE.
I know there is sidetone on V3, but even on maximum with knob turned on to 100% its almost unaudible, especially if you there is something happening in room or if you are in call with people or in game.
Even for sake of comparison, i connected my phone earbuds(nobrand earpods copy that came with my phone) to THX spatial audio external sound card that came with TE headset and its sidetone is like, ten times as loud and audible as V3 one.
I am going to fill for return and likely take common Blackshark V2 if it has decently loud sidetone and if local official retailer will accept this return.

Did you try performing the steps from this article? Please perform a clean reinstallation and see if it helps. Where did you buy the headset? And yes, this is a possible hardware issue too.
