Man O War Mic Issue

    When I first got it, I thought my Man O' War (Wireless) sounded really good through the Mic Monitor feature. However, once I started recording, I noticed that my mic sounds... bad. I thought it was a software issue with Shadowplay at first. Then I enabled the "Listen to this Device" feature through Windows, and sure enough, it was terrible. I tried raising up the quality to 48000 Hz (DVD Quality) and kept my Mic Volume under 60, which resulted in a slight improvement, however the quality was far from the one I was hearing through Mic Monitor. So I just brushed it off as "normal" for all Man O' War
    That was until I heard other people's sound tests for the Man O' War and was surprised to hear it sounded comparable to the one I was hearing from Mic Monitor.

    From that, I concluded that my Man O' War is very capable of recording good sound quality for Mic Monitor, but something is interfering with my Man O' War ability of reproducing that same sound quality when transmitting it to Windows.

    I have a few ideas on what the issue could be:
    1. My headset is wireless, so the mic quality may have been sacrificed due to a defect in my dongle, or something is interfering with my dongle. (The 7.1 Surround Sound sounds fine to me, although I don't have a reference to confirm if it too has also been compromised.)
    2. I have a software issue with Windows. (Although I have reinstalled Windows several times for other reasons)
    3. It's a hardware issue from inside the headset. I would submit it for a warranty, but I recently found out that my headset, which someone bought for me, was a refurbished from Amazon. Therefore, the warranty has either expired or has never existed.

    If anyone could help me get up my mic quality up to levels through methods I have yet to attempt, please tell me. Although not as preferable, I wouldn't mind downloading something that can help improve my mic sound quality instead of having to fix the mic itself. As long as it no longer sounds like this.

    Hi @NerdishNoob7! Thanks for posting your Razer ManO'War's concern here in our support thread. By the way, when did the issue start? Is there any hardware or software changes prior to the issue? Just to confirm, is your headset's microphone is on "2 channel, 16 bit, 48000 Hz" format? Does the issue happen even when connecting the dongle to a different USB port on your current PC or to a different PC with Razer Synapse 2.0? Please clean reinstall your Razer Synapse 2.0 and see if the issue persists.

    I am having the exact same problem, I also tried raising the microphone quality to 48000 Hz but to no avail. I clean reinstalled Razer Synapse 2.0 and it didn't change anything. I tested the headset on my friend's computer and it still did not sound any better. I tried using different USB ports on my computer and it did nothing.

    I've tried almost everything and the microphone quality still sounds bad, however It sounds amazing when I listen through the Synapse 2.0 microphone monitor.

    Please help.

    Hey there! Have you tried using the included extension dock to separate your USB 3.0 and transceiver? This is to give as much distance as possible or if your PC has a choice of USB 2.0 connectors, use the one on the opposite side of the PC away from the USB 3.0 connector and position your transceiver as close as possible to the Razer ManO'War. This is a known issue with the implementation of USB 3.0 which is documented by Intel, please click this link to know more about its details.
