Motherboard RGB control with Chroma?

Hey guys,

Sorry is this post gets a little long winded but I'm having a lot of problems finding answers from anyone, specifically motherboard manufacturers.

A few years ago I made a custom Arduino controlled RGB setup with results I was happy with but it's been a few years and I feel it's time to update this but things have changed a bit since I built mine. Seen here:

RGB RAM sticks, motherboards, and video cards are all common place now and all things I want to tap into this go around but yet owning any of the components and just seeing the SDKs for each one, I'm having problems deciding which one I want to tackle. The Chroma SDK I feel is the most developed and best documented and would be the easiest for me to plug into but before I go out and spend a boat load for my next system I want to see if it's even possible to control all these components (RAM, Mobo, aRGB header etc) with my software + Chroma or not.

If I can then I can have Chroma mouse/keyboards etc join in the show which would be awesome and really punch of the effect of everything as a whole.

The only thing I've been able to find is news articles saying MSI partnered in the beginning of 2018 and I have skimmed the MysticLight SDK (just like all the others) but I haven't seen yet where the 2 join up and hand control from one to the other.

I've also seen that ASRock "totally" supports Razer Chroma but I can't find an SDK for ASRock Polychrome.

Essentially whatever SDK I decide to tackle is going to govern my entire build and which manufacturer I'm going to purchase so I'm trying to find answers to these questions now before I purchase and find out I made a harder/poor/completely un-doable choice.

Thanks!

Both ASRock and MSI devices can be controlled via Chroma SDK provided you're on PC with Synapse 3 running on it (Synapse 3 is responsible for forwarding Chroma SDK commands to MSI/ASRock/Thermaltake or any other "Chroma Connect" devices). The Chroma SDK doesn't have any direct interface to non-Razer devices.
Thank you so much, this is all the assurance I needed. I will press forward with either MSI or ASRock and with fingers crossed will be able to show off what Razer Chroma can do in the coming months. Thanks again!

Cheers! Will look forward to what you come up with. You can PM me here or post on the Chroma SDK channel on discord if you need any specific help with it : https://discord.gg/FUaGrmD
Any luck on getting the MSI mystic light to work? I have a B450 Pro Carbon AC and mystic light 3.0.0.50 and synapse 3 will not control RGB even though in the studio and apps it shows mystic light
So far the only part I've picked up is the MSI 2080 TI Seahawk and I haven't gotten Synapse 3 to work. Same exact boat where it shows Mystic Light but the lights don't change.

I've held off on the rest of the build waiting for the Ryzen 3000 series chips and boards to come out but will tackle it again.

What Razer devices do you have on the system? The Chroma engine does not activate if it doesn't detect a Razer device plugged into the system.
If it still doesn't work have you tried turning on game sync in the mystic light settings. This seemed like it gave control to chroma for me. Have had issues with the ram just randomly flickering when using chroma connect rather than straight up mystic light.
