Preserving leather on Razer Ornata Chroma wrist rest from tearing any further

I have my Razer Ornata Chroma for about a year. At some point I noticed that the fabric on wrist rest got slightly wrinkled. At this point the wrinkled material started to tear away as I used the keyboard. I got a quick fix by putting a transparent duct tape on the hole in fabric to prevent it form further tearing and making even bigger hole, but after a month it backfired and duct tape peeled with additional leather making hole bigger. Is there anything that I can do to stop the material from tearing and fill up the holes?
