Hi there,

I just got a Razer Basilisk for Christmas and I am experiencing some severe system lag when using it.

when not using the mouse, the system is fine. When I begin dragging the cursor across the screen, I notice the System process begin to Spike in CPU usage and the whole computer begins to stutter (resources, audio, video)

I have the mouse plugged into a USB 3.1 slot and my machine is of the following spec:

Operating System
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i5 6500 @ 3.20GHz 41 °C
Skylake 14nm Technology
RAM
16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1064MHz (15-15-15-36)
Motherboard
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. H170 PRO GAMING (LGA1151) 31 °C
Graphics
DELL S2440L (1920x1080@60Hz)
HP W2071d (1600x900@60Hz)
4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (EVGA) 49 °C
Storage
238GB NVMe Samsung SSD 950 (Unknown)
931GB Seagate ST31000528AS (SATA) 27 °C
465GB Seagate ST500LM021-1KJ152 (SATA) 25 °C
Optical Drives
No optical disk drives detected
Audio
Steam Streaming Microphone

I made sure today that my chipset and USB drivers were up-to-date.

Any thoughts on the issue here?

Thanks!

As another piece to this, when I switch back to my old Razer Death Adder, the lag and CPU spikes completely go away.
Have you tried reinstalling the mouse drivers? Also, try using it on a different USB port or PC.
