Hello, lately my Blackwidow Chroma v2 has been disconnecting and reconnecting randomly. I have tried everything i could find for the problem including:

  • Trying multiple usb ports in the back of my pc. (both cables are connected)
  • Disabling Synapse 3.
  • Doing a clean Reinstall of synapse 3.
  • Reinstalling/updating all usb controller and root hub drivers.
  • Turning off "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."
  • Disabling "USB selective suspend setting" from powersettings (witch worked for about 2 months).
  • Running "sfc /scannow" and "chkdsk /f" in the command prompt.
  • Running msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic. (hardware troubleshooter)
  • Running keyboard troubleshooter.

At the moment the keyboard is connected to my pc and has not come to life, since i plugged it in after leaving it disconnected overnight, the keyboard worked for about 5 minutes until turning off
and when i check device manager it says:
"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)
To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

The keyboard does not seem to work on other computers.

Is the keyboard still possible to save or is it just junk at this point?

I found the issue, to be that sugary liquid and other dirt and residue had gotten inside the keyboard and on to the PCB causing a short, in turn causing the over current protection to trip and not give the keyboard power when plugged in.

I gently cleaned the circuit board with isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush, i plugged it in after leaving it overnight to dry and to let the capacitors discharge and now it works!

Also this video helped a lot in taking it apart.
